Just for Grown-Ups

Parents and Teachers

Make room for curiosity, creativity, and kindness. North Pole Academy connects reading with hands-on projects that children can make, test, explain, and share.

Learning through making

What children can practice

At home, let a child choose a project and talk through their ideas. In a classroom, use the same project as a small-group challenge, a reading response, or a chance to explain a design. Each link opens activities with that learning goal already selected.

Care and empathy

Think about what another person enjoys and make something that helps them feel included.

Choose a project that fits your day

Ages
The current guides are generally for ages 5–9; the Star Cookie Design Studio is for ages 6–9. Follow the age range on each card.
Time
The current projects range from 25 minutes to about two hours. Check the card before choosing a baking project.
Materials and adult help
Open the printable guide first. Prepare its materials and follow its guidance for cutting, heat, needles, and food ingredients.
Setting
The current collection uses indoor activities. The search can also filter future outdoor projects as they are approved.
At home
Let the child choose who a creation is for. Pause to ask, “What did you try?” and “What would you change?”
In a classroom
Prepare materials in shared stations, give partners turns, and finish with children showing or describing their choices. Check school food and allergy rules before a food activity.
